Moon Star Restaurant in Ansonia

Don't order from here unless you're picking the food up yourself. Delivery takes 2 hours or longer and then on top of that they send us the sweet and sour chicken with no sauce. How do they forget the sauce? Also when you call to check on your order they make up a time as to when the food will arrive. The delivery experience is bad. If you want to pick up your food you may have better luck. I personally will never order from here again. My family might place an order for Chinese and get it from here but if I'm doing the order I'm absolutely positively not ordering from here.

Food is really good and only Chinese restaurant in the valley that has chicken gizzards

They forgot to deliver my order after over an hour then they asked me to pickup because they didn't have enough drivers. After agreeing to pickup, they assured me we would have fresh food remade. However this chinese restaurant ended up giving my whole family severe food poisoning...terrible start to the new year! Do not eat here!!

Excellent experience overall every time. Fast delivery and friendly ordering experience. I always order the same thing and as soon as they hear my address they ask me how much extra beef and they always send extra hot sauce and they never disappoint with the quality of the food. Highly recommend this place. Moonstar and China Sea ARE the best in Ansonia.

Told me 20 minutes and I’m waiting an hour now. But overall the food is good just wish they could be a little faster !👍🏽

I placed an order, and it was ready in about 15 minutes. However, when I arrived, I only received 3 of the 4 things I ordered. When I mentioned it to the worker, he was extremely dismissive and acting as if he couldn’t care less. I am not one to argue, so I just said okay and left. I am highly disappointed that I was charged for an item I never received. Although the food was good, I won’t be ordering here again.

The best Chinese food in the valley. Fast, great prices, and extremely delicious. Never had a language barrier when ordering food or requesting special items. Our family has been eating here for over 5 years and we love it. As for the couple who double posted with the little different stories below me I find that so hard to believe. Every one I know has nothing but great things to say about MoonStar. Seems like a cry for free food to me...

I ordered at 7:20pm! as I’m tying this at 9:24pm I still don’t have my food an I’m 2 blocks away I think I have called 6 times I keep getting 10mins 10mins but nothing, sadly this is my first/last time ordering here!

I’m plant based and haven’t consumed meat in three years, I ordered two different kinds of fake meat. One came fine, the other was actual meat. They changed out the order because they ran out of fake meat without telling us. I would have rather had them just take the second order off of my bill. SO unacceptable, and so gross. I wish I could give it zero stars. Luckily as soon as I tasted it I realized something was off and spit it out.

The food was fresh and i was excited they had plantains! Also place is clean and was so happy to see them cleaning the tables!

At the first moment you enter this place the stuff gives you an enjoyable feeling. Very hospitable waiters, it is a good restaurant to go out with buddies or with your date. yummy cooking, qualified chef de cuisine, honest price and generous service. Warmly recommended.

The Won Ton soup is excellent and love the beef with pepper and tomato.

They charge you if you ask for ketchup and hot sauce. Chicken was dry and French fries soggy simple meal

My husband ordered meals for us at 7:15pm, was told that we had to pay cash because it’s too busy for them to take his card information and he was rushed off the phone. We live less than 2 miles away from the restaurant but chose delivery to avoid having to pack our baby up and cart her out. My husband called at 8:30pm to ask about the order, intending to cancel it, but the woman who answered said, “He just left.” and hung up on him. Our food arrived at 8:55pm as I’m typing this. I would not have ordered at all if I realized it’d take 2 hours to get our meals... very disappointed. A courtesy call or just courtesy at all when my husband called either time would have made the experience less frustrating. I understand busy restaurants having worked in one, but this was a let down.

So let’s start with the first night I moved into Town. I googled and ordered from here after waiting an hour and a half my cousin called to verify that the order was on its way and they had a blatantly told us that they did not even put in the order So we obviously canceled then after a few short weeks we ordered from there it’s took an hour and 45 minutes for two combo meals then my items were wrong you would think for taking so long that they would actually do have the common courtesy to make sure that your order is correct maybe toss in there a free egg roll for waiting an hour and 45 minutes

I ordered for a 545pm delivery. The food was delivered at 5 PM. Proof with my ring doorbell. I'm not even home to eat it hot. So I call the restaurant, he said what do you want, me to go get the food and bring it back at 545? Are you serious? No how about you learn to read the time you clearly saw printed on the slip!

Used to be a big fan, but things have changed. Use GrubHub to order food. The last time we ordered food~ It was OVER an hour past the ETA, food still not here: called them, no help, ANOTHER 40 min passed: at this point, we wanted to just cancel our order ( 2 hours past ETA, for freaking Chinese food? come on), As we were calling to cancel, the driver showed up: we turned him away. They still charged us, so we paid for food we did not take. But whatever, prior to this: had missing items here and there. Will never order from this place again, and too bad cuz this was our go-to take out. On to the next one....

Food is good but delivery takes forever! Ordered one combo and an app and have been waiting almost 2 hrs!!! Unacceptable! Maybe time to hire another driver! I won't be ordering from here again unless we pick it up.

They are always late with delivery! Our order was over 2 hours late more than once! The delivery is never on time. Today the delivery is almost 2 hours late again and still is not here! When we called to check on our order they said the order should be here already, that was 30 minutes ago. We live less than 10 minutes away. This is unacceptable service and it is not the first time it has happened. When we called back they hung up after saying “order already paid” in other words as to say they don’t care because they already have our money. After several years of ordering here, we will not be returning customers. I never post reviews and I have those place many chances but this just isn’t right. Very disappointing to be treated this way.

This place doesn’t cook to good. Every time I buy from them anything, it taste weird. Not sure what’s going on but they better improve somehow.

This place delivery guy begged for a tip..and then they sent me regular chicken and broccoli when I ordered it with garlic sauce.what a shame and waste of money,never again

I will never return to this place again. Spent good money and got home and all the food is dried out. Chicken was so dry I couldn’t even chew it. Never in my life have I tasted something that bad. Also the workers are ignorant not nice. When u say something to them they barely wanna respond I said take care and got nothing back. Don’t waste ur money. U will regret it 👎👎👎👎👎

Delivery takes forever and they're rude. Took an hour and 45 minutes and the place was only a block away from me. I called 4 times to check on my order and each time they told me to wait and they would put the phone down and forget I was there. My money was not refunded.

This restaurant is my number one restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. when I want to go to a good dinner, this restaurant comes straightaway to my mind. good and food and a rich menu.professional staff members, and pleasant atmosphere. Not less important, the cost is decent. I tell about this place with pleasure.

Yesterday was the first time we came to that place. But It is absolutely not the last. We had great time with the generous service, with the excellent food and booze and with the honest payment. We will no doubt visit there again.

Food is soooo good! Loved the wonton soup, spring rolls, and noodles. No MSG for sure. We called and they were super busy but still just a 30 minute wait. Everyone is using masks. Everyone was working hard and quickly! No mistakes just missing utensils but no big deal. Thank you!

Food is usually pretty good and the delivery came within the time estimated. However, the crab rangoons I ordered tonight had barely any filling! At least one had none at all, just air! Very disappointed.
